Service and maintenance
Every LaHyla bike is built to last and designed to handle anything you throw at it—a true worry-free ride. But even the toughest heroes need a little care now and then! Just like a well-earned shower, your LaHyla bike benefits from regular cleaning, maintenance, and servicing to keep it performing at its best.
Don’t worry—we’ve made this process as simple as possible for you, thanks to our thoughtful frame design and this easy-to-follow guide.
1. Regular Cleaning
2. Frame and Bearing Maintenance

1. Regular cleaning
We recommend regularly cleaning your bike using lukewarm water,
mild soap, and a soft brush. Avoid using a pressure washer or high-pressure
cleaner, as this can force water into sensitive components and cause
damage.
To clean your bike properly:
- Rinse it down with a garden hose.
- Scrub it gently from top to bottom using a soft brush and soapy water.
- Let it soak briefly to loosen dirt.
- Rinse off with clean water and dry with a soft cloth.
*Important Note: For your safety, maintenance tasks should ideally be performed, or at least inspected by a qualified bike mechanic or someone with equivalent expertise.
2. Frame and Bearing Maintenance
All the bearings on your LaHyla frame are properly lubricated and protected with additional seals on the cover caps for enhanced durability. In most cases, checking them every six months is sufficient to ensure they’re functioning properly—this is also a great time to clean the pivot points thoroughly.
If you notice any bearings that feel loose (have play) or stiff, we strongly recommend replacing them immediately to maintain optimal performance. We’ve designed our bearings to be as durable as possible, but they are still wear parts with a limited lifespan, influenced by factors such as water, mud, and harsh cleaning agents. Depending on how you ride and maintain your LaHyla bike, bearing lifespan can vary significantly.
To keep things simple, you can purchase replacement bearings directly from our shop.
While experienced riders may choose to replace bearings themselves, we strongly recommend having this work performed or at least inspected by a qualified bike mechanic. Proper installation is crucial for ensuring the longevity and performance of your bike.
3. Torque Overview
To prevent damage to components, make sure all frame bolts are tightened to the specified torque values. You can find the recommended torque settings in the graphic below. Be careful not to over-tighten or under-tighten the bolts.
At the frame pivots, apply a bit of grease to the contact surfaces of the bolt heads and a small drop of medium-strength thread locker on the threads. For the brake mount bolts, skip the grease, but thread locker is essential here.
For cable guide screws, we recommend using only grease and skipping the thread locker altogether.
